Illness, diagnosis and recovery

Illness arise when functioning as a whole is out of balance. This relates to body and spirit in their mutual interaction, but also in connection with the surrounding environment. Individual therapy can offer support.

TCM uses very advanced diagnostic techniques. These include direct questioning, observation and examination of pulse, tongue and if needed palpation (physical examination). All this information together gives a clear picture of the complaints and their origin. The natural balance can be restored by therapy, using this individual diagnosis and the energetic approach. Sometimes cooperation with other disciplines, like medical doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other therapists in the complementary field can be important.

Therapy should stimulate self-care of the individual thus preserving his/her environment.

Recovery at the individual level can only take place through self-reflection and taking responsibility for the own situation and the environment with which we are inseparably linked. This requires independent and aware choices. See: Integrated Vision.
