Nutritional Therapy

Vital food which has been tailor-made for the individual person yields a large contribution to maintain health. In case of illness nutritional therapy is one of the first therapies to be applied. In ancient times, people were aware of the significance of food and lifestyle in restoring the vital energy balance.

In ancient China the handed over knowledge about food dates back thousands of years and still the current traditional Chinese medical nutritional therapy is based on the same basic principles of finding harmony through balancing Yin and Yang. In the Tang dynasty (618 - 907 AD) the famous Chinese healing master Sun Si Miao pointed out that nutrition should be the first therapy to be applied in case of recovery from imbalance (illness): “A good doctor  primarily gives advice relating to diet and lifestyle. Herbs and acupuncture are only administered if these indications have insufficient impact”.

In the ancient Western world a correct nutrition and lifestyle were also considered as an important aspect for the maintenance of a healthy balance. Hippocrates considered nature as the ultimate healer using the doctor as a servant.

At present it seems more and more to be forgotten that recovery of illness requests that people become more aware of their own situation and take responsibility and initiative to adjust eating habits and lifestyle. Nutritional therapy offers support in this process, thus creating an active approach for people to work on their healing process THEMSELVES. Especially in case of very complex pathology, the relative simple and basic approach through adaptation of eating and life style works most efficient. If necessary, additional individual therapeutic treatment can be given.
